Cookies and storage

How RequesTech uses browser storage and loads supporting services.

Last updated: 16 October 2026

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small files saved by websites in a browser. Other technologies, including browser storage, can store or access information on a device. UK privacy rules can apply to these technologies even when they are not technically cookies.

2. What the current RequesTech code uses

The current application source does not directly set its own cookies, initialise the Firebase Analytics SDK, or include advertising and behavioural-tracking scripts. Although a Firebase measurement ID appears in the public configuration, the current source does not initialise Analytics with it. This statement describes the supplied code; provider behaviour and production settings can vary.

3. Consent and control

The sign-in storage described above is used to provide the sign-in service requested by the user. The current source does not include an optional analytics or advertising feature. The operator of the live deployment must assess any storage or access technology introduced through hosting, security settings, third-party embeds or later code changes under the rules in force at the time.

Where consent is legally required for a non-essential technology, it must not be used before valid consent is obtained. A privacy notice on its own does not replace a required consent mechanism.

4. Managing browser storage

You can inspect and clear site storage through your browser's privacy or developer settings. Clearing the authentication storage may sign you out. Blocking browser storage or scripts hosted by Google may affect sign-in or the appearance of the site.

5. Further information

For personal information processed through RequesTech, read the Privacy notice. For current official guidance, see the ICO's guidance on storage and access technologies.
